How Generic Hansepran Works

After oral administration, clofazimine accumulates in fatty tissues and macrophages, where it exerts its antimicrobial effects against Mycobacterium leprae. It disrupts bacterial DNA function and inhibits growth.

Additionally, clofazimine has anti-inflammatory effects that help reduce immune reactions associated with leprosy. This makes it particularly useful in managing lepra reactions.
