How Generic Letairis Works

After oral administration, ambrisentan selectively blocks ETA receptors, which are responsible for vasoconstriction in pulmonary arteries. This leads to relaxation and dilation of blood vessels.

By reducing pulmonary vascular resistance and preventing smooth muscle proliferation, ambrisentan improves blood flow through the lungs. This reduces strain on the right side of the heart and enhances exercise tolerance.

Uses of Letairis

Ambrisentan is used to treat pulmonary hypertension (pulmonary arterial hypertension). Increased concentrations of a certain natural chemical are suggested to be the source of this illness (endothelin-1). This drug prevents endothelin-1's negative effects, which lowers pulmonary blood pressure, slows the progression of symptoms, and enhances exercise tolerance.

Before Using Letairis

Before taking ambrisentan, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other endothelin receptor blockers (such as bosentan); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
