After oral administration, cinnarizine blocks calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and improved blood flow, especially in the inner ear and brain.

It also inhibits histamine H1 receptors and suppresses vestibular system overactivity. This reduces symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting associated with motion sickness and vertigo.
